    Some patients need to give blood components or undergo apheresis procedures as part of their treatment for certain diseases.
  • Autologous Donation
    Before a scheduled surgery, some patients can store their own blood for transfusion.
  • Directed Donation Program
    When ordered by a physician, patients may specify their own donors for an expected transfusion.
  • Platelet Program
    Services help care for patients with low platelet counts.
  • Laboratory Services
    Specialized labs offer HLA testing, red cell reference services, virology testing, and neonatal testing.
  • Transfusion Medicine Consultation and Education
    Physicians offer education and 24-hour-a-day consultation on transfusion and transplantation medicine issues to the medical community in the North Florida and South Georgia regions. Patients in North Florida and South Georgia
    need blood from 90 volunteer donors every day.
